Bhadrapada Krishna Ekadashi is also celebrated as Aja Ekadashi. All sins are destroyed by observing the fast of Aja Ekadashi. By observing Aja Ekadashi lawfully and observing night awakening, all the sins are destroyed and both this world and the hereafter of the fast are improved. The result of Ashwamedha Yagya can be attained only by listening to the story of Aja Ekadashi fasting.

भाद्रपद कृष्ण एकादशी अजा एकादशी के रूप में भी मनाई जाती है। अजा एकादशी का व्रत करने से सभी पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं। अजा एकादशी का विधानपूर्वक व्रत करने तथा रात्रि जागरण करने से सभी पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं और व्रती के इस लोक और परलोक दोनों ही सुधर जाते हैं। अजा एकादशी व्रत की कथा के श्रवण मात्र से ही अश्वमेध यज्ञ के फल की प्राप्ति हो जाती है।
