At Balasore, Odisha on Friday, June 02, 2023 at about 7:00 PM, 10-12 coaches of Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express derailed near Balasore and fell on the opposite track. After some time, another train from  Yeshwanthpur to Howrah collided with those derailed coaches, resulting in derailment of three-four coaches. 
After the collision of two trains, the third train also collided with it. According to media reports, 261 people have died and about 900 people have been injured in this horrific train
