Gopashtami

Kartik Shukla Ashtami is celebrated as Gopashtami. It is believed that Gopashtami is celebrated since the time of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna kept the Govardhan mountain from Kartik Shukla Pratipada to Ashtami to save the cows and cows from the wrath of Indra. In the end, Indra renounced his ego and prayed to Lord Krishna for forgiveness. A festival has been celebrated in Braj to commemorate this, which later came to be known as Gopashtami. On this day there is a law to worship cows, cows (calves) and Gopals. It is said in the scriptures that the person who feeds the cows on this day and serves them and worships the cows with Panchopchar in the evening, then all the wishes of the person are fulfilled. In the modern era, if we donate for the cowshed on Gopashtami and try to protect the cows, then the work of Gopashtami is completed and its merit can be obtained.

गोपाष्टमी

कार्तिक शुक्ल अष्टमी गोपाष्टमी के रूप में मनायी जाती है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि गोपाष्टमी भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण के समय से ही मनायी जाती है। इन्द्र के प्रकोप से गोप-गोपियों और गायों को बचाने के लिए भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण ने कार्तिक शुक्ल प्रतिपदा से अष्टमी तक गोवर्धन पर्वत को धारण किए रहे। अन्त में इन्द्र ने अपने अहंकार को त्यागकर भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण से क्षमा प्रार्थना की। इस उपलक्ष्य में ब्रज में उत्सव मनाया गया है, जो बाद में गोपाष्टमी के नाम से मनाया जाने लगा।  इस दिन गाय, गोवत्स (बछड़े) तथा गोपालों के पूजन का विधान है। शास्त्रों में कहा गया है कि जो व्यक्ति इस दिन गायों को ग्रास खिलाए और उनकी सेवा करें तथा सायंकाल में गायों का पंचोपचार से पूजा करे, तो व्यक्ति की सभी मनोकामनाएँ पूर्ण हो जाती हैं। आधुनिक युग में यदि हम गोपाष्टमी पर गौशाला के लिए दान करें और गायों की रक्षा के लिए प्रयत्न करें, तो गोपाष्टमी का कृत्य पूर्ण होता है और उसका पुण्य प्राप्त किया जा सकता है।
