(June 30 to July 08, 2022)
There are four Navratras in a year:
1. Chaitra or Basanti Navratra.
2. Ashadh or Navratra during the rainy season.
3. Ashwin or Shardiya Navratra.
4. Magha Navratra or Shishir Navratra.
In this way, a nine-day ritual of Shakti Puja has been kept in each tu. The above four Navratras are classified into two categories: Pravat Navratra and Gupt Navratra. In Kaliyuga, Chaitra and Ashwin Navratras are manifest Navratras, while Ashadha and Magha Navratras are Gupta Navratras. According to Mahakal Samhita, Chaitra Navratra in Satyuga, Ashadha Navaratri in Treta Yuga, Magha Navaratri in Dwapar Yuga and Ashwin Navratra in Kali Yuga remains prominent, but along with this, the importance of Shakti worship has been told in the above four Navratras in the Shakta texts.
This year Ashadhi Navratra will be from 30th June to 08th July. These are Gupt Navratra. In these Navratras, worship of Mahasaraswati, who killed Shumbh-Nishumbha, is prominent. There is also a law of worshiping Shakambhari in these Navratras. You can do all kinds of secret practices during these Navratras.
