Lunar Eclipse (November 08, 2022): Second eclipse of Kartik month

While there was a severe solar eclipse on Kartik Amavasya on October 25, 2022, the eclipse lunar eclipse on Kartik Purnima is coming on November 8, 2022. Like solar eclipse, lunar eclipse is also visible in India and it will remain in the form of Khagras lunar eclipse at many places. Thus there are two eclipses in the month of Kartik, which are not considered auspicious by the scholars of Samhita astrology.
This eclipse will be visible in North America, South America, Australia, Asia, North Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean etc. This eclipse will not be visible in Europe and Africa.
This eclipse will also be visible in the form of Khagras in Northeast and Eastern parts of India. Whereas in the rest of India there will be Khandagras. In places where moonrise is before 17:12, this Khagras will also be visible at those places. In the rest of India, this lunar eclipse will be visible as Khandagras.
On November 8, 2022, the lunar eclipse will start from 14:39 according to Indian Standard Time and will last till 18:19. In which the position of Khagras will be from 15:46 to 17:12. In different regions of India, it will be visible in the form of Pratidodaya i.e. eclipse will be present at the time of moonrise.
Sutak of eclipse: Since the eclipse is prone to dawn, its sutak is considered from sunrise. Normally, the Sutak of Lunar eclipse is considered 9 hours in advance, but in Pratidodaya it is considered from the time of sunrise.
Horoscope of eclipse: Lunar eclipse is happening in Aries and Bharani constellation. Therefore, this eclipse is especially inauspicious for the people of this zodiac and constellation. Apart from Aries, it will also be inauspicious for the people of Taurus, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Pisces.

चन्द्रग्रहण (08 नवम्बर, 2022) : कार्तिक माह का दूसरा ग्रहण
कार्तिक अमावस्या पर जहाँ 25 अक्टूबर, 2022 को ग्रस्तास्त सूर्य ग्रहण था, तो वहीं कार्तिक पूर्णिमा पर ग्रस्तोदय चन्द्रग्रहण 8 नवम्बर, 2022 को आ रहा है। सूर्यग्रहण की भाँति चन्द्रग्रहण भी भारत में दृश्य है और यह कई स्थानों पर खग्रास चन्द्रग्रहण के रूप में रहेगा। इस प्रकार कार्तिक मास में दो ग्रहण हैं, जिन्हें संहिता ज्योतिष के विद्वान् शुभफलप्रद नहीं मान रहे हैं। 
यह ग्रहण उत्तर अमेरिका, दक्षिण अमेरिका, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, एशिया, उत्तरी अटलाण्टिक महासागर, प्रशान्त महासागर आदि में दिखाई देगा। यूरोप और अफ्रीका में यह ग्रहण दिखाई नहीं देगा। 
भारत में पूर्वोत्तर और पूर्वी भागों में खग्रास के रूप में भी यह ग्रहण दिखाई देगा। वहीं शेष भारत में खण्डग्रास होगा। जिन स्थानों पर चन्द्रोदय 17:12 बजे से पूर्व है, उन स्थानों पर यह खग्रास भी दिखाई देगा। शेष भारत में यह चन्द्रग्रहण खण्डग्रास के रूप में दिखाई देगा। 
8 नवम्बर, 2022 को चन्द्रग्रहण भारतीय मानक समयानुसार 14:39 से आरम्भ होकर 18:19 तक रहेगा। जिसमें खग्रास की स्थिति 15:46 से 17:12 तक रहेगी। भारत के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में यह ग्रस्तोदय के रूप में दिखाई देगा अर्थात् चन्द्रोदय के समय ग्रहण विद्यमान रहेगा।
ग्रहण का सूतक : चूँकि ग्रहण ग्रस्तोदय है इसलिए इसका सूतक सूर्योदय से ही माना जाता है। सामान्य रूप से चन्द्रग्रहण का सूतक 9 घण्टे पहले से मानते हैं, परन्तु ग्रस्तोदय में इसे सूर्योदय के समय से ही माना जाता है।
ग्रहण का राशिफल : चन्द्रग्रहण मेष राशि और भरणी नक्षत्र में हो रहा है। इसलिए इस राशि एवं नक्षत्र वाले व्यक्तियों के लिए यह ग्रहण विशेष रूप से अशुभफलप्रद है। मेष राशि के अलावा वृषभ, सिंह, कन्या, तुला, धनु, मकर एवं मीन राशि वालों के लिए भी यह अशुभ फलप्रद रहेगा।
