Mahaprabhu Hitaharivansh ji, the originator of Radhavallabh sect, had appeared on Vaishakh Shukla Ekadashi, Monday, Vikram Samvat 1530 in the morning in a village called 'Baad' near Gokul near Mathura. He is considered to be the 'incarnation of Lord Krishna's Flute'. His father's name was Keshavdas Mishra and mother's name was Taravati. Father Keshavdas was famous as 'Vyasji'. He was a resident of Deoband near Saharanpur and had come to Gokul along with his wife Taravati on a tour with the then emperor, at the same time after the appearance of Shri Hitaharivansh ji in the village.
The childhood of Shri Hitaharivansh ji is full of supernatural events. At the age of six months, he started saying the book 'Shri Radhasudhanidhi'. At a very young age, Radha ji herself had given Gurumantra to Shri Hitaharivansh ji in Deoband. With his permission, he came to the abode of Vrindavan.
When Mahaprabhu Hitaharivansh ji was going to Shridham Vrindavan, he took rest in Chidthaval village on the way. There was a beautiful idol of Radhavallabh ji given by Mahadevi ji to a Brahmin. Shri Krishna gave a dream to the Brahmin that a Mahatma was going to Vrindavan and today he is staying at a certain place in this village. Devote your two daughters to them and give our idol in dowry. Here Mahaprabhu Hit Harivansh ji also had a dream that choose both the daughters of a certain Brahmin and accept my idol. Knowing the desire of God, Shri Hitaharivansh ji accepted both the girls and went to Vrindavan with the idol of the Lord. On the day of Kartik Shukla Trayodashi, Samvat 1565, he established the same idol of Shri Radhavallabh ji by building a temple in Vrindavan.
Shri Hitaharivansh ji resided in Vrindavan and visited Shrinikunj Dham on the day of Rasotsav on Ashwin Shukla Purnima in Vikram Samvat 1609. They had four sons – Srivanchandra, Sri Krishnachandra, Srigopinath, Srimohanchand.
Apart from Radhasudhanidhi in the books of Mahaprabhu Hitaharivansh ji, Shri Ashastav, Chatusshloki, Shri Yamunashtak Stotra, Radhatantra, Hitchaurasi etc. are notable. Every year the birth anniversary of Mahaprabhu is celebrated with great celebrations after Vaishakh Shukla Ekadashi and in Radhavallabhiya temples and monasteries.
