Vaishakh Shukla Chaturdashi is celebrated as Narasimha Chaturdashi. Lord Narasimha appeared on this day to kill Hiranyakashipu at the request of the devotee Prahlad. Devotees keep fast on Narasimha Chaturdashi. On this day Lord Narasimha is worshiped along with Lakshmi and in the end the aarti of Lord Narasimha is performed with conch shell, bell etc. Awakening is done in the night.
