Shivopasana has special significance in the month of Shravan and if Monday coincides with it, i.e. Shravan is Monday, then its importance becomes double. This is the reason that all Shiva devotees observe fast on Monday of Shravan and do worship and worship. On the first Monday of Shravan, after retiring from bathing in the morning, the following resolution should be taken:
For the purpose of attaining Shiva's grace, I take a pledge to observe fast on all Mondays of this Shravan. O Mahadev! You fulfill this resolution of mine.
After taking the above resolution, go to the Shiva temple and anoint the Shivling with milk and water and worship them properly. Thereafter, listen to the Monday fasting story, recite Shiv Stotras and chant 'Om Namah Shivaya' as far as possible. Stay fast on this day and after bathing again in the evening, go to the pagoda and worship Shiva. Take food only after that.
If Laghu Rudri, Maharudri or Ati Rudri is recited on every Monday during the fast of Shravan Monday, then the full result of Shivopasana is obtained.
If you want to fast on sixteen Mondays starting from the first Monday of Shravan, then this Kamya Prayog is a sure way to fulfill your wishes.
