The Sindh New Year begins by celebrating Chaitra Shukla Dwitiya as Chetichand. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Shri Varundev (Shri Jhulelal). This festival will be celebrated on 02nd April, 2022 this year. On this occasion, there is a provision for the worship of lit lamps, i.e. water and light with water-urn everywhere, because both of them are the essential elements of human life. This festival is celebrated not only in the whole of India but wherever the residents of Sindh province reside. On this day, after doing satsang-discourse, worship-recitation etc., 'Bahirana' (procession) is taken out with water-light in the evening. In this procession, the devotees chant 'Ayo Lal Jhulelal' while dancing and finally immerse the Kalash in the water source.
