Goddess Skandmata is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri

According to the scriptures, the form of Mother Durga is worshiped in the form of Skanda Mata on the fifth day of Navratri. Shailputri married Lord Shiva after becoming a Brahmacharini and doing penance. Thereafter Skanda was born as his son. He is also known as Lord Skanda Kumar Kartikeya. Skanda symbolizes the coming together of knowledge and (righteous) action in our lives.
We often say that Brahman is manifest everywhere and is omnipresent, but at present when you have a difficult situation to deal with in your life, what do you do? What knowledge would you use then? To solve the problem you need to act, need to put your knowledge into action. So when you take action guided by knowledge, it is Skanda Tattva, which manifests and Goddess Durga is believed to be the mother of Skanda Tattva.

नवरात्र में पाँचवें दिन देवी स्कन्दमाता का पूजन

शास्त्रों के अनुसार माता दुर्गा का स्वरूप स्कन्द माता के रूप में नवरात्र के पाँचवें दिन पूजा की जाती है। शैलपुत्री ने ब्रह्मचारिणी बनकर तपस्या करने के बाद भगवान् शिव से विवाह किया। तदनन्तर स्कन्द उनके पुत्र रूप में उत्पन्न हुए। ये भगवान् स्कन्द कुमार कार्तिकेय के नाम से भी जाने जाते हैं। स्कन्द हमारे जीवन में ज्ञान और (धर्मी) कार्रवाई के एक साथ आने का प्रतीक है। 
हम अक्सर कहते हैं कि ब्रह्म प्रत्येक स्थान पर प्रकट होता है और सर्वव्यापी है, लेकिन वर्तमान में जब आपके पास अपने जीवन से निपटने के लिए एक कठिन स्थिति है, तो आप क्या करते हैं? फिर आप किस ज्ञान का उपयोग करेंगे? समस्या को हल करने के लिए आपको कार्य करने की आवश्यकता है, अपने ज्ञान को कार्य में लगाने की आवश्यकता है। इसलिए जब आप ज्ञान द्वारा निर्देशित कार्रवाई करते हैं, तो यह स्कन्द तत्त्व है, जो प्रकट होता है और देवी दुर्गा को स्कन्द तत्त्व की माता माना जाता है।
