Worship of first Shailputri and Mahakali in Navratri

On the day of Pratipada of Ashwin Shukla Paksha, Ghatasthapana is performed and worship is done according to the law. Mahakali and Shailputri are worshiped on the first day of Navratri. In the worship of this first day, the yogis fix their mind in the Muladhara Chakra. This is where he started his Yoga industriousness.
The first is Durga Shailputri. She is the daughter of Himavan, the king of mountains and the first of the nine Durgas. In her previous birth, Prajapati Daksha's daughter was Sati, that is, the wife of Lord Shiva. When Prajapati Daksha performed a huge yajna, he invited all the deities to receive their respective sacrifices, but he did not invite Shiva to the yagya. When Sati heard that our father was performing the rituals of a huge yajna, she was troubled to go there. On telling his point to Shiva, he said, “Prajapati Daksha is angry with us for some reason. They did not call us intentionally nor did they send any information." Then Shiva said, "It is not right for you to go in such a situation." When Sati reached her father's house with impatience, Prajapati Daksha insulted Shiva. Seeing all this, Sati's heart was filled with anger, guilt and anger. She thought, “I have made a big mistake by not listening to my husband Shivaji. She could not bear the humiliation of her husband. Sati, neglecting her mother and father, burnt her body to ashes by yoga fire. Hearing this incident, Lord Shiva got angry and sent his Ganas and completely destroyed that Yagya of Daksha. After birth, Parvati, the daughter of Himavan, the king of Sati mountains, became 'Hemvati' and again became the consort of Shiva.
According to the famous Upanishad legend, when this very same Bhagwati Hemvati broke the Vritravadjanya pride of the deities Indra, they became ashamed. He praised her with folded hands and clearly said that you are the power in reality. We are all powerful Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva by getting power from you. Glory to you, hail to you.
The one whom Brahma praised in the state of yoga nidra of Lord Vishnu, the one who bears the blade, the wheel, the mace, the bow, the arrow, the perigee, the prong, the bhusundi, the skull and the conch, adorned with all ornaments, radiated like a sapphire, ten By meditating on Mahakali with the face and ten feet, it is the first stage to fight with our evils, ill-wishers and demonic tendencies and trouble them.
Chanting one rosary every day during Navratri of Sri Devi's Siddha Mantra 'Om Hreem Klein Chamundayai Viche', all desires are fulfilled and by the grace of Shri Bhagwati one attains constant devotion and ultimate peace.

नवरात्र में प्रथम शैलपुत्री एवं महाकाली का पूजन

आश्विन शुक्ल पक्ष की प्रतिपदा के दिन घटस्थापना करके विधि-विधान से पूजा की जाती है। नवरात्र के पहले दिन मातृशक्ति की उपासना महाकाली एवं शैलपुत्री की पूजा की जाती है। इस प्रथम दिन की उपासना में योगी अपने मन को मूलाधार चक्र में स्थित करते हैं। यहीं से उनकी योग साधना का प्रारम्भ होता है।
पहली दुर्गा शैलपुत्री हैं। ये पर्वतों के राजा हिमवान् की पुत्री तथा नौ दुर्गाओं में प्रथम दुर्गा हैं। ये पूर्वजन्म में प्रजापति दक्ष की कन्या सती अर्थात् भगवान् शिव की पत्नी थीं। जब प्रजापति दक्ष ने बहुत बड़ा यज्ञ किया, तब इसमें उन्होंने सारे देवताओं को अपना-अपना यज्ञ भाग प्राप्त करने के लिए निमन्त्रित किया, किन्तु उन्होंने शिवजी को यज्ञ में नहीं बुलाया। सती ने जब सुना कि हमारे पिता एक अत्यन्त विशाल यज्ञ का अनुष्ठान कर रहे हैं, तब वहाँ जाने के लिये उनका मन व्याकुल हो उठा। शिवजी को अपनी बात बताने पर उन्होंने कहा, “प्रजापति दक्ष किसी कारणवश हमसे नाराज हैं। उन्होंने हमें जान-बूझकर नहीं बुलाया और न ही सूचना भेजी।” तब शिवजी ने कहा, “ऐसी स्थिति में तुम्हारा जाना सही नहीं है।” अत्याग्रहपूर्वक सती अपने पिता के घर पहुँची, तो प्रजापति दक्ष ने शिव का अपमान किया। यह सब देखकर सती का हृदय क्षोभ, ग्लानि और क्रोध से संतृप्त हो उठा। उन्होंने सोचा, “मैंने अपने पति शिवजी की बात नहीं मानकर बड़ी गलती की है। वह अपने पति के अपमान को सहन नहीं कर सकीं। सती ने अपने माता एवं पिता की उपेक्षा कर योगाग्नि द्वारा अपने शरीर को जलाकर भस्म कर दिया। भगवान् शिव ने इस घटना को सुनकर क्रुद्ध होकर अपने गणों को भेजकर दक्ष के उस यज्ञ का पूर्णतः विध्वंस कर दिया। फिर जन्मान्तर में सती पर्वतों के राजा हिमवान् की पुत्री पार्वती ‘हेमवती’ बनकर पुनः शिव की अर्धांगिनी बनी।
प्रसिद्ध उपनिषद् कथानुसार जब इन्हीं भगवती हेमवती ने इन्द्रादि देवों का वृत्रवधजन्य अभिमान खण्डित कर दिया, तब वे लज्जित हो गए। उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर उनकी स्तुति की और स्पष्ट कहा कि वस्तुतः आप ही शक्ति हैं। आपसे ही शक्ति प्राप्त कर हम सब ब्रह्मा, विष्णु एवं शिव भी शक्तिशाली हैं। आपकी जय हो, जय हो।
विष्णु भगवान् की योगनिद्रा की स्थिति में ब्रह्माजी ने जिनकी स्तुति की थी, उन खड्ग, चक्र, गदा, धनुष, बाण, परिघ, शूल, भुशुण्डी, कपाल और शंख को धारण करने वाली, सम्पूर्ण आभूषणों से विभूषित, नीलमणि के समान कान्तियुक्त, दस मुख और दस चरणवाली महाकाली का ध्यान करने से वह हमारे कुसंस्कारों, दुर्वासनाओं तथा आसुरी वृत्तियों के साथ संग्राम कर उन्हें कष्ट करने की प्रथम स्थिति की ही द्योतक है। 
श्री देवी का सिद्ध मन्त्र ‘ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे’ की नवरात्र में प्रतिदिन एक माला जप करने पर सभी मनोरथ सिद्ध होते हैं और श्री भगवती की कृपा से अचला भक्ति और परम शान्ति की प्राप्ति होती है।
