Worship of Goddess Saraswati and Kalratri on the seventh day of Navratri

Destroyer of sufferings of all beings, who pervades all, fear of fire, fear of water, fear of animals, remover of fear of night, destroyer of lust, anger and enemies, destroyer of planetary obstacles, destroyer of wicked Due to the destruction of the night of Kaal, his name was 'Kalratri'. On the seventh day of Navratri, Kalratri Devi is fasted, darshan and worshipped. The seventh goddess among the Navadurga is Kalratri. Kaalratri means 'Kaal' meaning 'Kalratri'. The form of Goddess in the form of Kalratri has been explained as follows:
Goddess Kali has scattered hair in this form. Flames of fire emanated from the breath of the goddess. This form of mother is very terrible and mother has assumed this form only to destroy the wicked. Maa Kali has the fourth arm in this form, with one hand the mother gives a boon, with one hand she is in abhaya mudra, the mother holds a knife in one hand and a sword in one hand. Here the Goddess is riding Gardabh.

नवरात्र में सातवें दिन देवी सरस्वती एवं कालरात्रि का पूजन

सम्पूर्ण प्राणियों की पीड़ा हरने वाली, सभी में व्याप्त रहने वाली, अग्नि भय, जल भय, जन्तु भय, रात्रि भय दूर करने वाली, काम, क्रोध और शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाली, ग्रह बाधाओं का हरण करने वाली, दुष्टों का संहार करने वाली काल की रात्रि विनाशिका होने से इनका नाम ‘कालरात्रि’ पड़ा। नवरात्र के सप्तम दिन कालरात्रि देवी  का व्रत, दर्शन एवं पूजन किया जाता है। नवदुर्गाओं में सप्तम देवी कालरात्रि हैं। कालरात्रि से अभिप्राय ‘काल’ अर्थात् ‘कालरात्रि’ से है। कालरात्रि के रूप में देवी के रूप की व्याख्या कुछ इस प्रकार की गयी है :
देवी काली इस रूप में बाल बिखरे हुए हैं। देवी के श्वास से अग्नि रूपी ज्वालाएँ निकलती हैं। माता का यह रूप बहुत ही भयानक है और दुर्जनों का नाश करने के लिए ही माँ ने यह स्वरूप धारण किया है। माँ काली की इस रूप में चतुर्थ भुजा हैं, जिसमें एक हाथ से माँ वरदान देती हैं, एक हाथ से अभय मुद्रा में हैं, माता के एक हाथ में खड्ग और एक में तलवार है। यहाँ देवी गर्दभ की सवारी कर रही हैं।
