नवरात्र में तीसरे दिन देवी चन्द्रघण्टा का पूजन

नवरात्र के तीसरे दिन दुर्गा माता का तीसरा स्वरूप चन्द्रघण्टा देवी की पूजा की जाती है। इनका यह स्वरूप परम शान्तिदायक और कल्याणकारी है। इस दिन साधक का मन मणिपूर चक्र में प्रविष्ट होता है। माँ चन्द्रघण्टा की कृपा से अलौकिक वस्तुओं के दर्शन होते हैं। दिव्य सुगन्धियों का अनुभव होता है तथा विविध प्रकार की दिव्य ध्वनियाँ सुनायी देती हैं। ये क्षण साधक के लिये अत्यन्त सावधान रहने के होते हैं। ‘चन्द्रः घण्टायां यस्याः सा’ आह्लादकारी चन्द्रमा जो घण्टा में स्थित हों, उन देवी का नाम चन्द्रघण्टा है। इस देवी के मस्तक में घण्टा के आकार का अर्धचन्द्र है। ये लावण्यमयी दिव्यमूर्ति हैं। स्वर्ण के सदृश इनके शरीर का रंग है। ये सिंह पर आरूढ़ हैं तथा लड़ने के लिए युद्ध में जाने को उन्मुख हैं। ये वीररस की अपूर्व मूर्ति हैं। देवी के तीन नेत्र और दस हाथ हैं। इनके कर-कमलों में गदा, धनुष-बाण, खड्ग, त्रिशूल और अस्त्र-शस्त्र लिए, अग्नि जैसे वर्ण वाली, ज्ञान से जगमगाने वाली, दीप्तिमती, कर्मफल प्राप्ति हेतु सेवन की जाने वाली सुशोभित देवी की पूजा करने से बड़ों-बड़ों को अपने कर्त्तव्य में प्रवृत्त कर सकते हैं। इनके चण्ड भयंकर घण्टे की ध्वनि से सभी दुष्ट दैत्य, दानव एवं राक्षस के शरीर का नाश करना, भक्तों को अभयदान देना और देवताओं का कल्याण करना यही उनके शस्त्र धारण करने का उद्देश्य है। महान् रौद्र रूप, अत्यन्त घोर पराक्रम, महान् बल और महान् उत्साह वाली देवी महान् भय का नाश करती हैं।
माँ चन्द्रघण्टा की कृपा से साधक के समस्त पाप और बाधाएँ नष्ट हो जाती हैं। इनकी आराधना सदैव फलदायी है। इनकी मुद्रा सदैव युद्ध के लिए अभिमुख रहने की होती है। जो मनुष्य अग्नि में जल रहा हो, शत्रुओं के भय से पीड़ित हो, विषम संकट में फँस गया हो, तो देवी की शरण में जाने पर उनका कभी कोई अमंगल नहीं होता और उनके ऊपर आई हुई विपत्ति भी दूर हो जाती है और उन्हें शोक, दुःख और भय की प्राप्ति नहीं होती है। भक्तिपूर्वक देवी का स्मरण करने पर सब प्राणियों का भय एवं कष्टों का हरण लेती हैं और स्वस्थ पुरुषों द्वारा चिन्तन करने पर उन्हें परम कल्याणमयी बुद्धि प्रदान करती हैं और उसको निश्चय ही वाँछित फलों की प्राप्ति होगी। इसका उपासक सिंह की तरह पराक्रमी और निर्भयता के साथ ही सौम्यता एवं विनम्रता का भी विकास होता है। उसके मुख, नेत्र तथा सम्पूर्ण काया में कान्ति गुण की वृद्धि होती है। स्वर में दिव्य, अलौकिक माधुर्य का समावेश हो जाता है। देवी के घण्टे की ध्वनि सदा अपने भक्तों की प्रेत-बाधादि से रक्षा करती रहती है। इनका ध्यान करते ही शरणागत की रक्षा के लिए इस घण्टे की ध्वनि निनादित हो उठती है। हमारे इहलोक और परमलोक दोनों के लिए देवी का ध्यान परमकल्याणकारी और सद्गति को देने वाला है।
